We are delighted to announce that St. Richards Catholic Primary School is currently running our Spanish clubs for their pupils in both KS1 and KS2. Whether your child is in KS1 or KS2, our expertly designed curriculum focuses on building a strong foundation in Spanish language skills, including vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
our sessions

Reception children - ages 4 to 5
One of the most effective ways for very young children to learn Spanish is through listening and participating in traditional short stories and nursery rhymes. Through this interactive approach, children not only absorb vocabulary and sentence structures but also learn and repeat Spanish words with excellent pronunciation and confidence, making language acquisition an enjoyable experience.
Key Stage 1 - Ages 5 to 7
Through interactive activities and exercises, KS1 children will have the opportunity to learn new key words, and develop a better understanding of their meanings and contexts. Additionally, children will be able to identify written versions of the words they have learned over time. This helps them not only reinforce their vocabulary knowledge but also strengthen their reading skills in a foreign language. By actively engaging in these activities, children are able to gain confidence in their ability to communicate effectively in the Spanish language.

Key Stage 2 - Ages 8 to 11
Children have a natural inclination towards storytelling and music. They will begin to recognize familiar words and phrases that they have encountered in these sessions, which boosts their vocabulary and comprehension. Children will learn to express themselves and connect with their peers using simple words and short phrases, allowing them to participate in meaningful interactions and social development.
